The food is amazing, I had the wagyu set D (I think) and she had the set S. Everything was the best meat quality and the grilling was good too! And the free curry and soup was so good too we had seconds! Special shout out to our server Pye (?) who was the most attentive, friendly, and could explain the menu so well despite having to solo handle a full house! 10/10!

Arrived on a weekday around dinner with no wait. They don’t take reservations and only do walk in. There’s about 16-20 counter seatings total. Got to try to S++ signature set combo and it was delicious. The waiter and chef was so attentive during the whole meal. Service was excellent and they even let us refill on curry and soup. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Coming to the place, it felt like those typical small secluded japanese dining which felt nice. The service was also exceptional and was very attentive when I had questions or needed something. Since this was my first time trying this place, I went ahead and splurge, getting the Chubby TAN Signature All-In-One Set, the upgraded Classic Gyutan to Mango Thick Cut, the Ikura Roe, and their promotional beef skewer which allowed me to get a draft asahi beer in a discount. The presentation was very nice with the way the dishes were set up. The condiment went very well with the meat; favorite was the wagyu miso sauce. As I was given my courses, the meats tasted very rich, decadent, and tender. The meats were cooked to perfection and had nice char to them. The ikura roe was also very tasty, either by itself or with the meat. Side dishes were also pleasantly tasty such as the beef curry, dressed salad, and the beef broth. Since I had ordered a lot I had to get another refill of rice which some folks might do the same. For those who are not use to eating beef this rich, I do recommend getting a lighter set for starters and you can later get additional dishes if you feel like you can handle

omg they serve the best thick beef tongue I’ve had in nyc so far!! The combo S is a must get in my opinion, the beef soup they serve at the beginning was also surprisingly really flavorful. The server was also the sweetest girl I’ve met so far, she’s soo nice.

Came for the beef tongue combo and honestly liked it more than I expected 。 You get 3 different cuts — thin, classic, and thick — and each one tastes different. The thick cut was sooo good, super juicy and chewy. Everything tasted really fresh after grilling. They also have membership discounts right now, so the price feels pretty worth it. Already craving it again… definitely coming back。
